Summer 2011
I'm not sure how it whipped by so quickly, but it did! It seems like just yesterday i was so excited that all of the leaves were popping out and now most of them have fallen off of the trees - SO DEPRESSING!
What i do know is that we had a great summer. I personally spent more time outside than i have in years. Was tanner than i have been in years. We went to the beach more times in one summer than i have since high school and we went swimming at mom's/grandma's A LOT! The boys both love the water and the beach. It was the perfect summer for swimming - hot and dry! I can't believe it was so beautiful after the LONG rainy spring we had. Tyler started t-ball a month later than the year before and i think it rained every day in April except like 4 or 6 days (I can't remember for sure).
T-ball was great and Tyler was much improved from last year. We met a lot of nice new parents and kids this year too.
Uncle Chris got married and that was a fun time! We even managed to get some sight seeing in while we were there. It was a lot of running around for the little guys, but they did great and looked super cute in their tuxs!! Terry actually liked DC and said he would go back!

The garden was a success this year! We were able to take better care of it now that Dylan is older and doing his own thing more. We gave the boys a corner of the garden and got out the big Tonka trucks and they would be digging huge holes and moving dirt all around.
Summer vacation was good. We went and did some day trips and a lot of swimming.
Before we knew it, it was fair time. Dylan calls the Crawford County Fair the "Coffee" County Fair and wanted to go everyday. He is still in love with horses although he was kind of back on a cow kick at the fair. We went to see the tractor pulls with Rod and Bonnie too.
Then it was back to school. Tyler has Mrs. MacKelvey for second grade. We were sad to learn that Miss Denise is no longer driving bus. We really miss her!!! We barely got any pictures on the first day of school because we went out super early to get some pics and the bus pulled up 15 minutes earlier than it had been for the last two years. I was nervous how we were going to make the bus at 7:30 every day when we could barely make it by 7:45 :)
Then it was time for the Albion Fair. Dilly was in his glory!! We went at least three times. We went on the first night to enter our pumpkin and Tyler did a Lego project again this year. We went once with Grandma and Papa and we went on the last night with Rod and Bonnie. We also went for a little bit on Saturday morning because Tyler and I (and Dilly for a little bit) marched in the Albion Fair Parade. Dilly thought we should go to the fair every day and night:) This year we discovered the old merry-go-round. It was 50 cents a ride and well worth it. Dylan calls it "the race" and asked to go again and again and again. But it's way cheaper than playing those silly midway games!!! They had a blast on it.

Tyler got First Place for the pumpkin and Honorable Mention for his Lego project. I told him that next year he should draw and picture instead!
After the fair scouts started up and i got 10 new boys for a total of 15! It's a lot but it's also more fun. I do feel bad that i don't get to talk to each one at every meeting though and I'm trying to work hard on that, but i have a great group of helpers this year so they all help me cover the kids and make sure someone is telling them they are doing a great job or helping them if they can not do something.
Dylan had his first ride on a really horse at Aunt Bonnie's barn. We spent the morning there feeding the horses hay, apples, carrots and their favorite treat - candy canes - who knew! I got a bunch of cute photos. Dilly liked his ride but told Aunt Bonnie that her BIG horse was too bumpy. Next time we go he is going to ride Candy the pony. He was all upset that he could not wear his cowboy hat while he rode - they made him wear a safety helmet:(
Next came Birthday-paloza!
Terry turned 40 this year. We had a small dinner party at our house and i think everyone had a good time. I got tickets for us to go to his first ever Browns game. They lost of course ;o) but we had a really good time and it was cool to be there.
Two weeks later Tyler turned 8! I can hardly believe that my first baby is 8 already. He had a friend party and invite his buddies from scouts and some of the boys in his class this year. We made double chocolate cupcakes with clone trooper helmet rings on them. It was a Star Wars theme and we made goody bags for the boys. We also had a small family party, just us and the grandparents. Tyler wanted a Boba Fett cake again. This year instead of regular Boba Fett, i combined his two favorite things and made it Lego Boba Fett.
Twelve days later Dylan turned 3! OMG - were did that go!!!! Dilly wanted a horse cake and a cowboy party.
Things are slowing down a little bit. Terry is trying to hunt and I'm trying to do the spring cleaning that never happened that has now turned into fall cleaning and we are gearing up for the holidays.
I never thought i would say this, but i almost look forward to January and February right now! Well, without the snow and cold! I am in desperate need of a nap and some down time!!!!!!! PJ days with the boys in the basement playing computer, watching movies and scraping and nights by the fire playing cards and board games! Maybe i will ask Santa for a Margarita machine this year after all! :)
