Where has summer gone?
I L-O-V-E Summer! I like no schedule and no homework and the overall relaxed vibe. I can not believe that school starts in about 3 weeks and then we will be back to the L-O-N-G school year. I do look forward to Fall which I also love ~ the walks in the woods, the fairs, school field trips, school pictures, school Halloween parade, every thing Halloween (since it is my favorite holiday) and all my boys birthdays. But then comes the dreaded other holidays (yes, you heard it right, I'm NOT a Christmas fan!!!!) and the long, cold, boring winter.
I have been trying extra hard to get outside this year. I have the best tan that i have had in probably 4 or 5 years. I have been out on the bike several times and have walked on my lunch more times than last year (last year was super bad). I have been gardening and watering and just trying to be out there more. However, i think this is going to back fire because I'm only going to miss it more when it is gone!
This summer we went to the beach 3 times already which is 2 times more than usual. Tyler loves the water and Dylan loves the sand. He likes to just lay there in it. They have both been enjoying Grandma's pool. Tyler is trying hard to swim and Dylan is a dare devil with no fever and you have to watch him every second to make sure he doesn't drown! He loves to jump in the pool and the lake. He tools around the pool all by himself with his two floating devices on. He can get to the ladder and all around the pool by himself.
Tyler has been keeping up with his math and reading. He's doing great with his reading but fights me about the math. I find this odd, because when he's actually in school it's the other way around. Although last year he hated doing the memorization problems. He likes the charts, greater than and less than and that kind of stuff.
They both have gotten so big this summer!
(I found this post on Jan. 3, 2012 - I had never published it. I know there is a lot of the same stuff as the Summer 2011 post, but there is other stuff too that I do not want to forget so I'm posting it now even though it was never finished and partially repeated.)
