Clearly I'm bad at this...
No matter how hard i try to keep up with everything that is going on i fail miserably! I hope you two remember that i was always hanging out with you and trying to keep our house clean and make sure that you had good food to eat, clean beds and clothes so sometimes i forgot to write down when you got your first tooth or said your first words or did your first handstand or whatever. Bottom line - i'm doing the best i can and i love you so very much!!!!
Okay, well a lot has happened since May 26th!!! Tyler is now out of school. He had a great year. He passed on to first grade even though he missed 32 days of school in Kindergarten! T-ball is over. He did really good and hit the ball every time. He never had to use the "t" again. The picnic was a good time and the trophies were super cute. I definitely think he wants to play again next year. He has also grown a lot this summer. I didn't realize it until Jake came over one day and Tyler was a lot taller than Jake. I don't notice how fast you guys grow when your wearing shorts:)
Dylan is basically speaking in full sentences now. None of us can get over how fast he picked up talking. He literally repeats everything you say. Tyler taught him "you want a piece of me" and it is the funniest thing ever. When you first started you would put up your fist and say "piece of me?" and then that turned into "Mommy - piece of me?" and now you pretty much say the whole thing. You also talk like crazy in your sleep. I think you have so many new words floating around in your head all day that they can't help but come out while you are sleeping. You also started saying Tyler very recently. I was really surprised, because i thought that would be one of your very first words, but i guess that must be a hard word for you with all of those hard sounds. You continue to run, not walk. You LOVE to be outside. If you hear someone mention the word outside you have a fit if you think they are going there and you are not. You are still in love with "moo cows" and "puppy dogs". You have started making mommy kiss all of your boo-boos (sometimes two or three times ;o)), you love to cuddle and you ask me to "hold, hold" you. You also started the thing that Tyler used to do when he was your age that i absolutely LOVED - when you get out of your bath you like to be wrapped up in your towel and snuggle with me for a minute - melts my heart!!!!! I know i've said it before, but 18 months to 24 months is my absolute favorite time!!!! The only thing that i'm currently upset about is that one Sunday morning (I think it was June 28th), you woke up and we were no longer Momma and Dadda, we were mommy and daddy. I was like "what is this!!!! This can't be happening already!!!" You were consistent for a whole week, but now, thank goodness, you go back and forth. You also still love to look at books. You have become better about not demanding that we read you the same book over and smack me in the eye with the book every time. I hope that part of that is the craziness of summer. I guess we need to start making more time for story time again so that you are doing more than just looking at pictures by yourself. You have also decided that you might like to try the potty. When you think we are not looking you walk up to the potty and stand just like Tyler does (with your little belly pushed out forward)and pretend that you are peeing. It is soooo cute!! I think i'm going to get you a potty seat, but i'm afraid you will be disappointed when i make you sit because you are all about the standing.
You and your brother have entered into a new phase too. You guys can sit down and play Lego's and you almost never put them in your mouth anymore. I can't wait until this winter. I think you will be old enough and you guys will play together a lot more. Tyler does get upset when you wreck his stuff - i think you are going to have to work on that!
We already had our annual summer vacation (July 3 - July 11). Nine days of heaven!!!We went to the Cleveland Zoo, the beach, the Deer Park, the Nature Center and the Spillway, swam at Grandma's, the fireworks (two nights), the Greek Fest and Grove City, plus Uncle Chris and Melissa were home - busy, busy, busy!!!!! The week flew by, but we all had a good time and it was nice to be together so much and i could pretend that i was a stay at home mommy!!
Well, i think i'm caught up for this post. Until next time....
